Go Farva is a running app for Android. It is made by Fez Commerce, a one-person business in Sunderland, UK. This policy explains what the app does with your data.
Short version
- There is no account and no ads.
- Your runs stay on your phone. We do not run a server that stores them.
- Location is used only while you are recording a run.
- Map tiles (when online) are fetched from OpenFreeMap; those requests show your IP address and the map area you are looking at.
- Purchases go through Google Play.
- Optional: you can send finished runs to Health Connect on this phone (write only).
- Contact us at the email above.
What stays on your phone
When you record a run, Go Farva stores on the device: GPS points, times, distance, pace, splits, and (if you use Pro) personal bests, totals and plans. Settings and Pro unlock status are also stored locally.
Deleting a run in the app removes it. Uninstalling the app removes the remaining data. There is no account to delete with us.
Location
Precise location is used only while a run is recording, in a foreground service that you start by tapping Start. We do not use background location. Location is stored on the device as part of the run. It leaves the phone only if you export or share a run (for example a GPX file), or if you turn on Health Connect (see below).
Maps (OpenFreeMap / OpenStreetMap)
When a map is on screen and you are online, the app requests map tiles, fonts and style files from OpenFreeMap (tiles.openfreemap.org; operated by Hyperknot Software Kft., Hungary; may be served via Cloudflare). Those requests reveal:
- your device’s IP address, and
- the map area you are looking at (roughly where you or the run is).
No account, cookie or run file is sent with those requests. Map data is from OpenStreetMap. Attribution in the app: © OpenStreetMap · OpenFreeMap (OpenMapTiles).
Sharing you choose
- GPX export / share: you choose who receives the file (for example email, Files, or uploading at strava.com yourself). We never upload to Strava or Garmin for you.
- Strava ZIP import (Pro): you pick a Strava “download your data” ZIP on the phone. It is read in place; nothing is copied to our servers and no Strava API is used.
- Health Connect (optional): if you turn it on in Settings, finished runs you record can be written to Health Connect on this phone. See the Health Connect section below (or Health Connect privacy).
Purchases
Pro is a one-time unlock through Google Play Billing. Google handles the payment. The app only checks and stores whether Pro is unlocked on this device. We never see your card details.
Backups
Runs are not included in Google’s cloud backup for the app (so a large history cannot break the backup quota, and “runs stay on this phone” stays true). When you set up a new phone and use Android’s device-to-device transfer, your runs may copy across. Pro unlock comes back from Google Play on the new phone. Your own GPX / “export all” is the backup we recommend.
Crash reports
We do not use a third-party analytics or crash SDK. Google Play may show us crash and ANR reports in Play Console as part of distributing the app.
Text-to-speech
Audio cues use the phone’s own text-to-speech engine.
Children
Go Farva is aimed at adults (18+). It is not directed at children.
Changes
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date.

Health Connect (optional)
This section is also published separately at /privacy/health-connect/ for Health Connect’s privacy link.
If you turn on Send runs to Health Connect in Settings (off by default):
- Go Farva may write to Health Connect on this phone: an exercise session (running), the route, and the distance for each finished run you recorded here.
- We do not read anything from Health Connect.
- Imported Strava runs are not sent.
- Data stays on the device inside Health Connect. Other apps only see it if you grant them access in Health Connect.
- Turn the setting off anytime. You can also remove access in the Health Connect app. Past writes already in Health Connect are managed there.
This does not send runs to Strava or Garmin. To get a run into Strava or Garmin, export a GPX and upload it yourself.
